Once you have successfully navigated the first two years of your career, you may want to obtain your Broker or Broker Associate license.

Course Summary

With this course, you’ll get helpful information about owning and managing a broker office, including business plans, budgets, and profit and loss statements, as well as be challenged by completing sample closing statement case studies that reflect state license broker exam questions using the Closing Disclosure.

Submit an application and application fee with the Department of Business & Professional Regulations (DBPR) at www.myfloridalicense.com.  State application requires background check via fingerprint processing.  You can visit DBPR’s website for a state-wide list of electronic fingerprint vendors. 

  • Complete 72-hour state-required Broker pre-licensing course.  Certificate of Completion earned with passing grade of 70% or higher (valid for two years)

  • Take and pass the Florida Real Estate Broker Examination with a grade of 75 or higher

  • Complete a 60-hour FREC-approved post-licensing course for brokers before initial broker license expires

Out-of-State Licensees:

Florida has mutual recognition agreements with other states. If you are licensed in AL, AR, CT, GA, IL, KY, MS, NE, RI, or WV, you may be eligible to receive a license through mutual recognition*.
